Program Notes
Anamorphoses VI
, for tenor saxophone is one of the pieces from the cycle morphoses . The different pieces from this cycle although distinct in form follow the same criteria of sound material elaboration. Part of the electronic material of
Anamorphoses V
I is based on a microtone texture that involves the saxophone lines as a phantom sound shade – partial darkness caused by interception of light. The main material created for the
Anamorphoses I,
Anamorphoses II, Anamorphoses III
and
Anamorphoses VI
(all with tape) is developed in the pieces
Anamorphoses IV,
Anamorphoses V
(all acoustic), where the main musical ideas get a dimension purely acoustic and the original sound material is applied to new contexts and gradually gaining new expressive qualities.
