One day I was backstage at the Maria Matos Theatre and I started to notice a series of graffiti written on the wall by actors: I ended up copying several of these phrases. Years later I decided to use some of them as the basis for this piece. Most of these phrases were in Portuguese, of course, but there were also some in English. So using them gave a peculiar polyglot result. There is no connection between the phrases, apart from the fact that they were all found in the same place.
When using the texts, frequent symbols from the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) are used in the score.
