He is currently studying for a PhD in Music and Musicology at the School of Arts of the University of Évora, under the supervision of Professor Eduardo Lopes. In 2012 he finished the Master's Degree in Music – expertise in the Composition area, at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML – Music College of Lisbon), under the guidance of the composer António Pinho Vargas. Also in 2012, he finished the Master's Degree in Music Education – expertise in Composition area, at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML – Music College of Lisbon), under the guidance of António Pinho Vargas, Carlos Marecos and Francisco Cardoso. In 2008 he graduated from the Composition Course at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (ESML – Music College of Lisbon), where he studied with several composers – Carlos Caires, Christopher Bochmann, José Luís Ferreira, Sérgio Azevedo – in the area of Composition. In other curriculum areas he worked with other composers and musicologists, such as: Carlos Marecos, João Madureira, Roberto Perez and Benoît Gibson.
In 2007 he completed his 8th degree in Saxophone at the National Conservatory in Lisbon, as well as the rest of the curriculum. He studied composition at secondary level with composer Daniel Schvetz. Since 31/10/2022, he has been a Guest Assistant Professor at the Postgraduate Course in Conducting Bands and Wind Ensembles at the Instituto Politécnico de Leiria - Escola Superior de Educação e Ciências Sociais. Since 01/09/2012 he has been Professor of Music Theory and Analysis and Chamber Music at the Metropolitana Professional School. Since 01/09/2008 he has been Professor of Analysis and Composition Techniques and Chamber Music at the D. Dinis Conservatory of Music in Odivelas. Between 01/09/2020 and 31/08/2023, he was Pedagogical Director of the Metropolitana Professional School. Lino Guerreiro develops his activity as a composer mainly within the genres for wind instruments and percussion. Currently he is collaborating with the publishers: AVA Musical Editions, ROSSIO Music Publishing and SCOMEGNA, Edizioni Musicali s.r.l. He is director of the mixEnsemble, a musical project whose philosophy is to serve the music and artists within various musical contexts and for various purposes. Together with saxophonist João Pedro Silva, he co-authored the book "O Saxofone Pedagógico | The Educational Saxophone | Le Saxophone pédagogique", which consists of a method for teaching the saxophone aimed at the preparatory level, namely at the beginning of the 3rd cycle of basic education.
