Eugénio Rodrigues was born Lousã in 1961 and studied music in the USA (Connecticut State University, Yale University Summer School of Music and Duke University) and in the Netherlands (The Hague Royal Conservatory, where he was a student of Louis Andriessen).
He received several composition awards, some of them while in the USA, namely the ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) First Prize in 1995, 1996 and 1997.
In 1995 Eugénio Rodrigues represented Portugal at the Festival World Music Days, in Essen (Germany).
His musical work includes a great number of chamber and choir pieces, with a special emphasis on the scenical component.
