Program Notes
Brustrofédon is a scenic action that presents itself as a performative incursion into the mental space of the writer Alberto Velho Nogueira, and can be integrated into the field of non-narrative opera. It is a work for soprano, narrator, 4 musicians, electronics and video, organised into 5 scenes separated by episodes of narration, with music by Ricardo Guerreiro, libretto from the book of the same name by Alberto Velho Nogueira and staging by Leonor Keil. The creation of this project was supported by the Caixa Cultura programme and its first public presentation will take place as part of the Aveiro_Síntese biennial.
