This is a piece in three movements, marked by several
events around a single theme. The Beginning is the introduction of the main theme, with a slow and relaxed
nature. The first movement, The Rough, starts with a coarser nature, the main theme presented earlier reappears, but this time in a completely different way associated to the liveliness and stiffness of this movement. The second movement Heterophony, starts with this way of treating the material, as well as contrasting with the remaining movements. The third movement Hoquetus<(em> is written in a 7/8 bar with irregular divisions, in order to create different rhythmic and harmonic results which may confuse the listener. However the theme is the original, very simple and objective, and distributed by all instruments. Although most salient in this movement, is the main idea present in the entire piece, somewhat reminiscent of a early polyphony technique, the hoquetus. The piece finishes with the summary of all previous liveliness, a frantic climb that ends in a very strong moment that decreases until it disappears.
