Having been born and raised on the island of São Miguel, I have always been fascinated by the element of "nature" on which we depend so much as human beings integrated into this ecosystem. In addition, living with forces of extreme magnitude, such as volcanoes, gives us an added sense of our existence and the notion of fragility in the face of such power. It is in this interaction between fragility and strength that the concept takes shape. The creation of Magnetic Fields is based on the natural phenomenon of terrestrial magnetism and its dynamism as a modifier of the landscape. The artistic residency will consist of the creation of a sound installation that will explore the concept of magnetic force through interaction with the space and some objects that will be dispersed in that same space. This residency will facilitate the search for an organic sound entity that also modifies the landscape.
