Aveiro Listening is a real and fictitious soundwalk and, at the same time, an actual and imaginary mental wandering that, like almost all variants of this artistic format (the soundwalk), seeks to (re)activate listening (external and internal) as a primordial contemplative gesture, as opposed to the oppressive hegemony of vision.
In this case, the author uses the sound of Aveiro in different spaces and times, interposing it with his (ideally absent, but really inevitable) presence. In this way, the three presences essential to the work's existence - that of the artist, the spectator and the city of Aveiro - are taken on as participating, dynamic and integral elements of the artistic object, emphasising the experience of a city as an aesthetic and always subjective act.
