Details as composer
Síntese - Contemporary Music Group is a creative platform involving interpreters in interaction with composers. Its repertoire has a haven at the the classical references of contemporary music but explores new sound worlds, encouraging composers in creating new music through new voices to traditional sonorities. It is an open and modular platform: from the solo instrument to the small and unorthodox chamber orchestra, all the options are available - even the electro-acoustic one. The musicians throw the challenge of creation, by providing the new music with the means of expression they most dominate. Síntese - Contemporary Music Group has as its epicenter of activity the city of Guarda, extending, however, its activity much beyond the boundaries of this city and being open to the world. Síntese - Contemporary Music Group had its inaugural boost in 2006, when the first edition of Síntese - Guarda Contemporary Music Cycle took place, having co-organized, since then, with the Guarda Municipal Theatre, the second, third, fourth and fifth editions of this cycle. In these cycles works of composers Eduardo Patriarca, Christopher Bochmann, Helder Gonçalves, Domenico Ricci, Jose Carlos Sousa and Amilcar Vasques Dias were premiered. In these cycles several portuguese premieres were also made , of which stands in 2006, the portuguese premiere of Webern’s Quartett op. 22, and the recovery of Portuguese contemporary works which had been forgotten since their premiere, like Constance Capdeville’s Double, a work of 1982 presented by Synthesis in 2008.
