The main characteristics of Joana Sá’s work are transdisciplinarity, experimentation, and the search for different artistic (un)formats. She created a trilogy of solo performances, “listening | the open”, which was the central theme of her PhD (2020) in Music Performance. Her recent work “a body as listening – resonant cartography of music (im)materialities” has multiple autonomous but related outputs: an expanded book, a virtual installation, a CD (Clean Feed Records), a performance, and conference performances. Joana Sá has performed at important Portuguese and international venues and festivals, having released three solo CDs, a film (on DVD), and several other CDs with different musical formations.
