Program Notes
This piece was written for the 1st Edition of the National Composition Prize for Choral Music Manuel Emílio Porto. It is based on a poem by Alexandre O’Neill. The text depicts the story of a dog and all its behaviours. The piece was written in a very rhythmically way, something that is unusual in a choir, especially for children. It also tries to explore extended voice techniques. The work was prized with an Honourable Mention.
