Program Notes
Trio is an atonal work focused on textures, where the contrasts between points, 'meshes', and heterophonic variations are explored. This proposal results in the insertion of melodic passages and also the solo moments, in cadenza style, which contribute to the articulation of the entire piece. Perhaps the most characteristic feature of this work is the form used in the composition/ notation of the textures, where the coordination gestures act as a complement to the figures of duration. I had no intentions outside of the content of the work itself, but still the consistent use of this notation strategy is a new factor among my creative proposals. For this reason and due to its reduced dimension, Trio may have a “study” trait – yet it seems to me that the expressiveness and fluidity of its textures justifies the inclusion of functional gestures in the chamber composition.
