On a casual stroll along a cliff, about an hour from Lisbon, I came across a rocky area where a kind of labyrinth was forming. I went inside. Once inside, all I could see were the high rocks that surrounded me and the sky. On the ground, too, there were only rocks. The rocky surfaces were moulded. Their contours were very expressive and were the impetus for embracing the creation of Caligrafia do Vento. The connection between the texture, colour and contour of what I saw led me to the musical elements that unite the idea with the discourse of the work. After reflecting on these visual elements, I created focuses of tension and distension, linked to memory, perception, time and intuition, in a balance between opposing structural forces and emotion. During the discourse, various images are created, which depend on the distance from which I observed the rocky elements, placing the sound in constant variation and different perspectives of organisation and dialogue.
