Program Notes
The work (in)distinguível portrays a game of perceptions in the 5 attributes of music: Frequency, Amplitude, Tempo, Timbre and Space. In each section there are various musical interactions that highlight these games, emphasising one or more attributes. The work, in essence, is born from a performative concept, devoid of much structural rigour in terms of the vertical alignment of the music, which leads to the uniqueness of each performance. This then requires each of the musicians to have a good knowledge of their part and the overall score, but not a deep knowledge of the individual parts of the other performers, so as not to create auditory habituation, which ends up "addicting the game".
