Separo, for ensemble, is a piece dedicated to the novelist Milan Kundera, written in the year of his death.
The discursive premise of the piece centred on one of the author's most developed ideas, the fragmentation of identity. The search for the expression of this idea lies in an initial rhythmic motif which, cohabiting with different sound nuances, is cancelled and transfigured. Through this journey, textural layers also emerge that expand, contract and agglomerate, musically paraphrasing Kundera's idea of identity composition. More than anything, this piece is an open letter of gratitude to one of the writers who has most influenced me to this day.
