My Office Is Not Soundproof was composed from a collection of specific sounds I made while I was composing and a group of protesters from the Climáximo movement blocked the road in the street where I live. The hustle and bustle created by police sirens, car horns and shouting began to disrupt my process. When I realised that the confusion wasn't going to end any time soon, I decided to use "noise" as the main material for the work. Throughout My Office Is Not Soundproof there are noticeable allusions to the turmoil that served as the starting point for its creation. However, this moment was not only used as a topic, but also to generate all kinds of musical material - melodies, harmonies, rhythmic and metric patterns.
