'Old Vinyl' was conceived from the sound idea of playing a vinyl record. Compared to the original, there are noises that appear in the reproduction, such as machine noise, clicks, altered timbres and other distortions. For many audiophiles, these sounds are part of the ritual of listening to music and evoke nostalgia. In this work, these sounds are an integral part of the narrative. Instrumental air is treated as the main sound element. The crackling sounds appear in counterpoint and the articulations create irregularities. Timbral adulteration is achieved through the use of different vowels and the utilisation of different dynamic profiles that create unusual spectral and stereophonic perceptions. The bassoon is the protagonist: it comments, counterpoints and emphasises this music in movement. The tempos themselves are proportional to the 78 and 45 rpm discs, and the choice of pitches depends on this relationship with the rhythm.
