Luís Miguel Leite (1993) is a guitarist, performer and lecturer, who graduated from the University of Minho in the class of Prof. Doctor Ricardo Barceló (Licentiate). He holds a Master Degree in Music Teaching realised at the Education Institute of the University of Minho. His discography includes: “Música Contemporânea Portuguesa para Guitarra” (2020) and “Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc” (2021), (solo and chamber music albums with the guitarist José Teixeira), and “Guitarra Clássica” (2019). He participated in the recording of the work “Dream Sandwich” (2020) by the composer Japanese Yuri Umemoto, and of the album “Pleiades” (2015) together with the Portuguese Guitar and Mandolin Orchestra (OPGB). His work has been presented in the programming of the Antena 2, Rádio Vizela (Philarmonia programme), FafeTV, TCF (Azorean Channel), RTP Madeira and other media. He was awarded and distinguished at various national and international classical guitar competitions, including the Luigi Mozzani International Classical Guitar Festival 2011 (Vibo Valentia – Italy), the Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga Guitar Competition (Bilbao – Spain) in 2014, the Luso-Spanish Contest (Fafe – Portugal) in the years 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2013, the National Guitar Contest (Ourém and Fátima – Portugal) in 2012, the Vila Verde Regional Contest in 2013 and the Gilberta Paiva competition in 2014 (the latter two in chamber music categories). He was nominated for the Ardinas d’ Ouro (Noticias de Fafe award) for his videographic work. In addition to his artistic activity, Luís Miguel Leite is also a teacher and author published by the AvA Musical Editions (Portugal).
