String Quartet N.1 (Imago) refers to the listening and transcription of sounds from a soundscape related to noise and vibration - normally segregated and not perceived. String Quartet N.1 (Imago) transcribes, reconfigures and choreographs actions of a soundscape, in a non-hierarchical approach, where a drop of water can be more audible than a waterfall, using a reduced palette of sounds, based on elements of resonance, timbre and texture, as discourse stratification agents. Added to this process is the isolation of sonic figures, addressing the approximation and deviation of the representation. The approximation figures intend to have a function close to mimesis, in an attempt to represent reality. The deviation figures undo this attempt at representation and take on an auratic meaning that blurs the original. Subjectivity has an important role in the transcription process, given that it reconfigures the represented element, questioning the limit of sonic sensitivity, through choreographic forms of transformation, gradual construction of sounds and contemplation of the represented subject.
