Elementos de Ritualizaçãois a work inspired by the sound of the bells of Seville Cathedral (Spain). For several years now, the sound of our surroundings has been part of my compositional process. Some of these sounds are perceptible by our hearing, others only through the use of technology. I approach the latter sounds as a phenomenon of silence. Not as an absence of sound, but as a way of including and extending its fragility. It was summer and around 40 degrees in Seville. There weren't many people around at that time. I chose a quiet courtyard inside the cathedral and spent a few hours recording the sound of the bells. Afterwards, I listened to the sounds in the studio and noticed that there was a cloud of sound spectrum caused by the acoustic characteristics of the bells, which rang randomly. I didn't hear this at the time of recording, but it became clear in the studio listening experience. This phenomenon between immediate listening on site and more attentive listening in the studio, as well as the memory associated with the communication function of the bells, drove the discourse of the work.
